After reading all of these posts regarding the extended wait times for renewal I'm getting nervous. Mine isn't due for another 18 months but I'll have to renew extra early. Not to hijack the thread, but why can't the DPS process LTC where they do DL? Then they could update photos, fingerprints if necessary, and provide you with a paper copy showing that the renewal is in progress.

On line may be more convenient for most of us, but it would at least give us a second option.
