Re: 30.06 and 30.07 signs at gas stations
Back on topic, and relating to my previous post, there is a difference in the law between the terms "premises" and "property." Premises specifically does not include parking lots, sidewalks, walkways, and the like. Property can include all areas owned by the entity in question. T...

I did! He was just a pretty cool guy all around, as far as I have been able to tell. The Rifleman was by far my favorite western growing up.Abraham wrote:LucasMcCain,

Re: 30.06 and 30.07 signs at gas stations
For purposes of Texas state laws, the term "premises" does not include parking lots. In federal laws, it does. This is why you can't have a gun, licensed or not, even in your car in the parking lot at the post office. You can however, if licensed, have one in your car or on your person in ...

Re: I got a 30.06 sign removed!
Awesome! Well written letter. I saved a copy for use should I need it. I haven't seen a lot of 30.06 signs around Arlington, but I've seen a few. Unfortunately, most of them I know to be dictated by a corporation, not decided at the store level.

Re: Is open carry (or even concealed carry) a non-issue?
Very few people will carry openly. I have done so on a few occasions such as while zipped up against the cold while riding my motorcycle. There is really not a good way to carry concealed while doing so that I have found. If it's under my jacket, it's too difficult to get to, especially with gloved ...

Re: Church Carry and "Turn the Other Cheek"?
My pastor carries, as do most of our deacons and many others in the congregation. On any given Sunday, about 8-10% of the congregation is armed. The pastor's attitude is that if you are being persecuted for the sake of Christ, then you should not resist. Scripture teaches us you should count it joy ...

Re: Child Care
I'm not a lawyer, but I would strongly encourage you to contact one regarding this issue. However, this is my understanding: If childcare locations are "off limits" areas for carrying, then you don't have to post signage. If you have to post signage, then it is at the discretion of those w...

Just to be clear, there is no gun registration in the state of Texas. Period.

Re: Costco ?
Agreed ... To me if a sign is posted in view legal or not someone took the time to do so to convey a wish or thought, for me I would not question it.. In many cases, this is true. However, there are also many cases where the decision to disallow licensed carry was made at the corporate level. The p...
