Good point. That is another possible meaning of the sign, especially if this is at a restaurant, club, or somewhere else that might have live music. My advice to the OP - don't spend too much time worrying about what they mean. This sign is letting you know that they have run out of weapons and contraband items and don't have any for sale at the moment. It's like a gas station with a "no gas" sign. If you open carry, they may make you an offer for your gun.
