Trump CFO surrenders to NY Authorities to face charges this morning. Trump heads to the border.
Even if Mr. Trump parlays the charges into some immediate good will from his supporters — he has denounced the investigation as political persecution — he could face the costly distraction of a trial if he attempts to mount another presidential campaign.
This sums it all up in one sentence. The Dems fear Trump, and this is all an attempt to discourage him from running again.

As we creep closer and closer to a situation where we jail opposing political leaders, hopefully all Americans will at least understand the importance of retaining our RKBA.

Poll of Republicans: Trump better President than Lincoln.
Absolutely. Lincoln suspended constitutional protections as if the executive branch had the constitutional power to do so. Republican tyrant.
Not to take this on a side track, but I've always found it a bit hypocritical that we told the English King that all people should be free to dissolve their existing government and replace it with a new one if they wish to do so. Then we turned around and told our own people they couldn't do exactly that less than 100 years later.

That said, I am glad that the Republicans managed to end slavery over the objections of the Dems.

If you don't have facts....just make up stuff. These commies are getting tiresome.
I love how he claimed he was "just doing a parody" when he was caught in his lies. I REALLY wish the other Reps would have repeatedly asked whether everything else he said was a lie / parody after that point.

Shouldn't CNN also recuse themselves from reporting on anything related to President Trump? How are they supposed to be unbiased when they are engaged in a lawsuit with the party they are reporting on?

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

If CNN wins this lawsuit, then the White House should assign Acosta to the back row and never call on him. Maybe also start every press conference with a statement that physical contact with staff will not be tolerated and a reminder that it is never OK for a man to assault a woman, while staring directly at this cretin.

IANAL, but obviously the White House restricts press credentials as there simply is not enough space to have a reporter from every single news organization in the country. How does a judge mandate which reporters get to attend? Do they go based solely on ratings or what?

Things are looking good for Kavanaugh. Let's hope it holds!

And imagine the craziness that we will see when Trump nominates someone to replace RBG after she is done.

Guy is detained by FBI at the airport. Questioned about Trump. So do you answer questions, or do you say, thank you gentlemen, but lets make an appointment when I can have my attorney present? Unless I am under arrest, can I leave now?
It sounded like they at least wanted him to believe he was under arrest. Separated from his family. Phone confiscated. Then asked a bunch of questions. I would have asked the question to clarify that I really was under arrest, and then would have asserted my right to remain silent. There is no reason to speak with the FBI unless you are forced to do so. Especially after what happened to General Flynn.

Seriously? The election established that the media has no journalistic standards or ethics any more and are merely the PR arm of the DNC. All pretense at objectivity or credibility has been long lost. I wake up every day happy that Donald Trump is Barack Hussein Obama's President.
But the press didn't make this attention grabbing tweet up, Trump actually tweeted this. Are you suggesting that he didn't tweet this? Or that he and his policies are actually responsible for this achievement? Or that such absurd claims are acceptable? Really? :???:
Trump loves living in the heads of his detractors. That's why he does these little things. A million and one people's heads will explode and Trump has moved on to something else.
Is Trump not ultimately responsible for the safety of commercial aviation? After all, the heads of the FAA and the TSA both ultimately report to him, do they not? Sure, he didn't do it all by himself, but it happened under his watch. The fact that it was posted here (and in the news article) as Trump "taking credit" says a lot. Why wouldn't they simply say that we had a record year for commercial airline safety and leave it at that, instead of trying to focus on our President's words.

Actions matter people, words not so much. Unless you are a snowflake who only cares about not offending anyone.

This is what they should have done from the start. Make all Republicans get on record voting to either keep, or get rid of, Obamacare.

Then they will have 2 years to craft a health care plan starting with a blank slate, and with Dems knowing that the alternative is a return to pre-ACA days. If Dems want to oppose every proposal at that point, then they will be the ones voting for no government healthcare plan.

Congress must approve foreign payments and gifts to federal employees per the emoluments clause. This is why Barack Obama was impeached when he accepted the Nobel peace prize along with it's accompanying cash payment from the government of Sweden.

Oh wait, no that didn't happen.

But the clause clearly applies to any federal employee who has an ownership interest in any business that receives payments from any foreign government. This is why every president in recent memory has been impeached because they owned stock in at least one company that received a payment from a foreign government (the clause makes no mention of an exception for a blind trust or the like).

Oh wait, that has not happened either.

So, this is a clause that every single President in recent memory has violated, and our last President flagrantly violated by personally accepting a check directly from a foreign government. It has never been considered to be an issue. But it is now a terrible threat to the safety and security of the United States because Trump is involved.

Frankly, this whole "hate Trump at all costs" thing is getting old. And I include the "Never Trump" folks in the Republican party when I say GET OVER IT ALREADY.

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

I really wish they would have forced a vote on this. When Obamacare implodes in a year or so and tens of millions are left with no options available under that system, it would have been nice to clearly show that every single dem and a handful of repub's voted to let that happen. May have helped with the mid-terms. That said, I'll defer to Ryan on the best way to play it politically.

I say move on to other things. The Freedom caucus has demonstrated that they want Obamacare to stay in place, so let them have their wish. Tax reform, National Reciprocity, and the Hearing Protection Act are all waiting in the wings.

Members of the Donald Trump transition team, possibly including Trump himself, were under surveillance during the Obama administration following November's election, House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes told reporters Wednesday.
Incidental, and legal, of course.
And proof that Trump was correct in stating that he was surveilled by folks working for Obama. Although it is interesting to watch the dems and their media allies playing semantics on the distinction between wire tapping and surveillance. The end result is the same regardless of the label used.

As for legality, yes the basic wire tapping / surveillance may have been legal, but the release of names of US person's caught on these wire taps, including Gen. Flynn, was definitely illegal. So I think it is a bit disingenuous to say that these activities were "legal, of course". Part of what happened was legal, part was illegal.

Take Austin with it. But leave the suburbs of Houston so I don't have to move.

The problem is that too many Kalifornians moved here looking for someplace that actually had jobs. And they aren't smart enough to figure out that their beloved liberal politics is what led to no jobs in the place they came from.

Al Franken calls Trumps Pocahontas remark racist.

Pocahontas is a well thought of native American princess. Hardly a derogatory racist term, unless maybe you pretended to be native American to get a professorship at a Harvard University and now along with Al want to be the next President.
If he thinks the term is racist, I wonder what he thinks about someone who pretends to be a given race to fraudulently obtain benefits. He must think they are the scum of the earth.

Oh wait, I forget that conditional ethics are at play here.
