Re: I voted!

I voted yesterday. The poll worker kept asking me for my DL instead of my LTC. I had to remind her twice that state law requires them to accept my LTC as valid ID.

I thought they struck down the voter ID law (serious question). I would be very pleased to learn that you actually do need an ID to vote.

I have an LTC & have a good friend that works for DPS, also my stepdad was an instructor until recently. I don't particularly care for either candidate & I think there were much better candidates in the primaries. But, I do lean left & I do think we're better off with her vs Trump. I support strict gun laws, but I also know (100% know) that Texas will continue to have an LTC & nothing will change that. The 2nd amendment will never be "done away with", No president is history has or ever will do away with the 2nd amendment. that's my 2 cents. Bash away at me.
OK, so I understand that you may not be especially worried about protecting the second amendment. I get that.

But you didn't say why you are voting for Hillary. I'm really curious about what good things you think she will do for this country. Or is it just about trying to stop Trump?

So I guess this means that I should not wear my "Hillary for Prison" tee shirt? :evil2:
Wear an "I'm with Him" shirt and really confuse them.

Re: I voted!

Thanks for the post, I didn't realize that early voting had started already. I will definitely get out there this week.

Personally, I get very frustrated by the whole style over substance trend in our country. Yes Trump is a jerk (any more accurate term would violate forum rules). He wouldn't be someone that I invited over to my house to watch a ball game. Hillary is a practiced politician who has trained herself to hide her frustrations, at least most of the time. Frankly, I don't care all that much about who they insult, or what insensitive things they say. Yes, it was disappointing to hear HRH call me "deplorable" and "irredeemable", and for her predecessor to belittle me and every other religious or freedom loving person as one who "clings to their God and their guns", like some frightened little child. But their hate filled words alone were not enough to keep me from voting for them. I still educated myself on their positions and voted for the candidate that I felt would do the most good, or at least the least harm, to our country. I didn't vote for Hussein Obama, and I won't be voting for HRH, but my voting decisions are not based solely on their offensive and hate filled rhetoric.

I wish that everyone could focus on the true substance and positions of the candidates instead of basing their vote on whether they were offended by something that a candidate said. If you like Hillary's plans for the country better than Trump's, and you think that HRH will appoint better SC justices than Trump will, then by all means vote for HRH. But don't vote for her just because you think Trump is offensive and crude.
