I think that Jim did the right thing. No shots were fired and nobody was injured. Returning to the scene, armed, to confront the neighbor could be viewed as escalation. Calling LCPD was the proper thing to do. If it happens again, they now have a police report. As far as pressing charges, that is the prerogative of Jim and his wife. Since all of the witnesses, except Jim's wife, were probably related to the perpetrator it would be hard to prove any charges.uudfourty wrote:I wasn't there, but I probably wouldn't have pressed charges.
Well, I would've, and when he sobered up, I would have offered an option: go door-to-door apologizing to everyone, describing in detail what he did, or face the charges.
