That seems like a lame excuse to me. There could always be some employees that didn't want you back no matter why you left. Thanks for your post and good luck on the job search.John Collins wrote:No the owner never spoke to me directly. They just said I could not come back because there were some employees that didn't want me coming back.

I have a couple questions for you if you would care to answer them. If you don't, I completely understand.
You stated in your first post that "only the owner has written permission." I presume that means that the owner gave himself written permission and he carried at work. Did you ever ask the owner for permission to carry at work and what was his response? Do any other employees have permission? I am curious that if he was carrying why he would deny your request.
Since you mentioned that you no longer have a job, I presume that you were fired "for cause" so you can't collect unemployment. The next question is when and how were you terminated and who did it? Did he wait until you got out of the hospital, etc. Did he express any regret having to fire you, etc. Maybe these are strange questions, but I am curious.

Thanks for sharing your story. I am sure that everyone reading this forum has learned something. I am sorry that you lost your job and hope that you will find work soon. Fortunately so one else was hurt so I hope that you don't have to face any criminal charges. I think that you have already paid enough for your mistake. Hopefully the DA will agree. Take care of yourself and stick around. There are a lot of good people that hang out around here.
