Re: What is a belt holster

Ok I hate to revive this especially since I am a newbie. I personally carry a IWB Remora holster with 2 or 3 different guns. It is friction that holds it in the pants. There are no loops, retention devices that attach to the outside of the pants.

So let's say we are going somewhere that doesn't have the 30.06 sign but does have 30.07. We are tucked in before entering but upon seeing the sign pull the shirt out as to conceal the firearm.

My reading of the new law seems to point that it MUST be on a belt. We can fight about what on a belt means but the Remora would definately not qualify as on the belt. Therefore I would say a true belt holster is in need.

The good thing is now the statute Adds the actor cannot be arrested for the sole offense of possessing a handgun that he or she is licensed to carry, unless a police officer gives the actor the opportunity to leave the area and he or she does not immediately comply.

All the police I know don't care what type of holster it is open or concealed as long as the firearm is safely in the possession of the licensed individual HOWEVER if something were to happen that could be used as a point of contention.

I for one will most likely just switch to the belt holster and go that route and not worry about printing anymore. LOL.
