I talked with Ma Richards in August before the elections in November and told her that she would be defeated by George Bush for Governor, because of her pocket veto of the CHL Bill. She stated that her "advisors" had told her that the majority of citizens in Texas did not want blood in the streets. She sent me a nice letter afterwards saying that she should not have listened to her advisors about Guns and Texans.

During these visits to Austin, I talked with my Senator, Teel Bivins. He stated that he was against allowing citizens in Texas to carry .45 Mags under the front seats of their cars, blood would run in the streets. After mailouts by the TSRA and NRA, he had received several hundred calls and letters in favor of it and only one against it, from the Panhandle's Big City Chief. Soon Senator Bivins was not only in favor of CHL Legislation, but a Co-Sponsor. It was an intresting time.
