I have to disagree that Islam is a peaceful religion. There are plenty of peaceful moderates/modern practitioners that are peaceful. But I believe the religion at its core, practiced in an orthodox manner is not peaceful. If you feel uneasy about a religious group because of a group of people doing bad things while claiming to be believers of that religion, you should feel uneasy about every belief as I doubt there is a religious group whos followers have yet to commit wicked acts.
That said, I have no problem with those who practice their religion peacefully. That goes for any religion.
