I work for a major carrier and "no where" is there any written requirements to force the posting of "any sign." Check out the Texas Department of Insurance, no where does it state that an insurance company has this right. The short of it is, business owners of all types generally use this statement as an escape goat for their reason to post what ever sign they want on the door or wall. I'm sure everyone has seen a sign at the local auto shop stating that "due to insurance regulations, customers are not permitted in the shop" - a bunch of bull. It doesn't mean that the insurance carrier can't recommend such as in the cases of a high hazard area but in the end it's the business owner's decision so they decide!
