I 100% agree with your comment above. One of the reasons I recently purchase a Springfield XDs 9mm is that it comes with some built in safety features, i.e. grip safety, trigger safety, etc., that don't require my same level of attention as pulling the slide, de-selecting a manual safety, etc. It allows me to feel comfortable with one in the chamber for EDC and doesn't require me to have additional steps to use my firearm in the rare event it is ever required.oljames3 wrote:
I found the article at the link above to be enlightening. Mainly because of the author's emphasis on the fact that one size does not fit all.
That we do carry is a point on which we can and should agree. What and how we carry are personal decisions based on personal choices.

Re: A Round in the Chamber Carry?
In response to the "moderator" comment as well as the PM from him; my original post shared an experience and a closing of asking how do you carry? I was unaware that "I" was required to continue to respond as answers were received, i.e. round in the chamber, or not. I was under the impression that the post continued due to others sharing their particular opinion on the subject with other members and I had no intention of being rude by not responding.

A Round in the Chamber Carry?
I just received my CHL a little over a month ago and until just recently I never carried a round in the chamber unless the safety was engaged. Now I do. I think some of my resistance comes from my military background ... safety was always required.
Regardless, I read something recently that referred to your holster as being your safety with a handgun. That made sense to me. Another thing that also made a lot of sense .... don't touch the trigger and it won't go "bang", i.e. one of the four basic safety rules.
So? How do you carry?
