Wonder what the nature of that hearing is? I did a criminal court records search and his name did not pop up in connection with this crime:

Not sure how Bexar County handles its pre-indictment felony cases. I would have thought his next court action would be a grand jury review to decide whether to indict him and proceed with the felony charge of theft from a person.

Certainly worth it to "stay tuned" on this case.

Re: Man attacks teens in San antonio over MAGA hat

if memory serves theft from a person used to be a state jail felony (180 to 730 day punishment range). Don't know if the legislature changed that or not.

Wonder if there is anything in the defendant's criminal history that would allow the prosecutors to seek an enhancement of the punishment?

Will certainly keep track of this case. Will have to go through the grand jury if the case is gonna maintain its felony status unless they do some kinda pre-indictment plea-bargain for a reduced charge.

Subject to the usual caveats and it depends---teenagers do not get to decide what a District Attorney or County Attorney decides to do with a case.

Wonder if any charges will be filed. Subject to the usual caveats and it depends--injury to a child is a felony in Texas.

From what I see it is at least a class c misdemeanor.
