The only gun rag I get is "The American Rifleman" that's because I comes with my membership. I read gun reviews like I read the Sunday Funnies, for entertainment.
Of your big name gun writers I doubt there are any who hasn't at one time or another(rimes with the name of a garden tool) themselves for some gun maker. They say there isn't anything a gun writer won't do to get another free gun.

Re: LC9 broke after 150 rounds
That's your payment for being a beta tester. It's cheaper for the gun companies to sell guns to people who want the "newest and bestest" and fix those that break or after a certain percentage re engineer and issue a recall. I expect a gun to work right from day one and will not buy a new model until all the bugs have been worked out. Waiting one year is not too long to put off buying a new model gun considering. If you HAVE to use it, the rest of your life may be on the line.wgoforth wrote:Not to mention a free magazine or hat usually follows it home...Jumping Frog wrote:Nice thing about Ruger, you can expect them to email you a UPS shipping document so the shipping is on their dime, and they'll take care of it.
Every brand of guns will have some percentage with quality issues. That is why I am partial to brands like Ruger that are known to stand behind their product.
