As promised here's a couple of pictures of the target stands I've built. They are 2 feet wide and when the legs are extended 7 feet tall. They were made to fit the target stand holders on my gun club range. We have pipes in the ground on 2 foot centers to hold the frames the height is to get the X ring high enough that bullets will hit the backstop and not the ground in front of it. I made them foldable to be more easily transportable in a small pick up or SUV. With the legs folded they are five fee tall. They are made with 1X2 strips that fit readily into 1.5 inch pipe. I wanted something that would be light and portable.

I use the paper targets from Law Enforcement Targets. I bought both the targets and repair centers. I also built my own target stands using corrugated plastic sheeting as backers (available at LE Targets or locally at sign shops.) The targets are stapled or thumb-tacked to the backer giving you a very solid target to shoot at. I'll take some pics and post them tomorrow It's raining right now not good photo conditions.
