I was the same age. Lived in South Central Kansas and was home finishing up my lunch when the network interrupted the noontime shows for a special announcement. Went back to school and the vice principal came in and told our teacher that The President was dead. I too was glued to the B&W TV for days afterwards. Was a terrible day that I will always remember.
These days when the network in interrupted I break out in a cold sweat and get goose pimples on my arms. I guess you could call it PTSD.
