Re: ammo on sale
.380ACP "canned heat" is available at georgia arms for .31/round. Still high but cheaper than WWB at academy when the moon and planets are aligned just right and you find it.

Re: ammo on sale
Wow...."claim"? "$199"?03Lightningrocks wrote:Well, since you want to go ahead, the ammo he is selling is exactly the same.LOL....like I said...buyer beware.
Seriously, I don't care if you get hosed....That is why I posted never mind. I don't know what your trying to prove exactly. The very same ammo you "claim" you bought at 299 was selling for 199 a couple months ago. You sure showed him....and you sure taught me a lesson. Carry on...sounds to me like you have it well under control.
By the way...click on the pictures in his add....it is the same exact picture....LOL....
See ya...

Re: ammo on sale
That was a fast edit there........03Lightningrocks wrote:Never mind...it doesn't matter... I will just say...always remember...."Buyer Beware"
For other's sake:
http://www.speer-ammo.com/products/lawman_cf.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is cleanfire, for shooting in indoor ranges.
http://www.speer-ammo.com/products/lawman.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is what I got.
I agree, buyer beware/shop around/etc. The point is that for those of us that didn't have the funds a year or more ago, or couldn't tell the future, we are in the present and chances are the prices will continue to go up if Barry and Co. have their way.
I do agree with you we're getting ripped off, but it is a perfect example of supply and demand and they're all doing this to us, not just Ammoman. His Speer GoldDot that I bought was at 37 cents a round until he stocked up and sold it for 55 cents a round. I doubt he paid 50% more for it from his supplier, but it's still cheaper than anyone else I could find that had it in stock. Now for his rifle ammo in 30.06, I could find that cheaper just about anywhere without trying hard.
I used to work for a company that was then bought by Olin. Olin also owns Winchester Ammunition. At that time, Winchester Ammunition was their money losing division. I'm sure now they are taking advantage of the market to move it over to a profit making status.

Re: ammo on sale
Interesting that you think you've seen my credit card statement. I don't know where you're getting your numbers to calculate MY purchase, that I already even paid on my credit card. Maybe you're looking at his Cleanfire price of $339/1000, but I didn't get the cleanfire. I paid $299 for 1000 rounds, shipped, and he still has it at that price right now though it's out of stock. He's been in and out of stock of that particular round several times since before the election and has yet to raise his price on that round (Part Number #40SW-165GR-TMJ-1000). WWB at Walmart has been at $28/100 in Katy and $30/100 in Sealy for at least 4 months now as well.03Lightningrocks wrote:MBGuy wrote:I just bought 1000 Rds Speer Lawman .40 165Gr for 29 cents a round. That's as cheap as walmart for WWB, plus no sales tax.
Plus, I bought 500 rounds of Speer Gold Dot .40 165Gr at 55 cents a rounds, while everyone else is selling it at over a dollar a round. He just got this in and raised his price, but it was still much cheaper than anyone else I could find that had it in stock.
Not much of a thief in the .40 S&W department, but he may be overpriced in other departments. I know for .380ACP he was way overpriced while he had it in stock, and 30.06 is overpriced as well. It pays to shop around....
If your talking about ammo man, your numbers are off a bit. The ammo you claim you paid 29 cents a round for is actually 33.9 cents a round. Which is MORE than wwb.
Hey...just think...you only paid 40% more than it was two months ago. For all the guys coming to the defense of ammo-man....i was talking in general terms about all the ammo dealers online.Ammo man was just one example...wha????...no defenders for sportsmans paradise???? They are ripping folks off along with the rest of the online ammo thieves. they are sticking it to us good and you guys come off like you like it...great...keep getting ripped off. I suppose if I had been caught unprepared like some you fellers did, I would be thinking they were doing me a favor too. Just realize...you are getting ripped off.
I wasn't coming to anyone's defense, I know on some stuff he's over priced, but I paid what I said I paid. Last big ammo purchase for me was in February of 2008 when I paid the bargain price (then) of $22.50 for WWB 100 rounds when Bass Pro Shop had a 10% off all ammo sale. Their regular price back then for WWB was $25/100 rounds. Shortly after that everyone went up to $26ish then the current $30ish right before election time. So your two months is more like 10 months for my particular round. I just paid 30% more than that purchase on my recent purchase, not 40%.
Is it a ripoff when copper and lead prices have gone drastically down? Yes, we are being ripped off. Is it probably going to go up more and that's why we are purchasing? Yes, it probably is, but you won't lend us your crystal ball so the rest of us are left having to guess what the future in ammo prices are.

Re: ammo on sale
Thanks!! I went by there yesterday and they had ONE box on the shelf. Well, the gun counter guys looked bored so I asked them if they had more, and they said the computer showed 10 boxes in the store. 20 minutes later, he came back with all 10 and I bought them all, but they said there's more coming in.WillieD wrote:Bass Pro has 10% all ammo through the end of the month. This makes their 100 ct box of WWB .40 come down to $22.94. Just a buck higher than Wal-Mart was charging a couple weeks back.
It may be worthwhile for some of you to take a look.
I think with 1800 rounds at home, that's all the wifey will let me have before she starts getting worried . I'm surprised she hasn't complained already!

Re: ammo on sale
Argghhhhh!!
Last night I checked the Katy Walmart on the way home, my 100 round WWB .40S&W was up $5. So then I stopped off at my Sealy walmart where just 10 days or so ago I emptied their shelf and bought 900 rounds at $21.88 per box of 100, they too had raised their price $5.
Good thing I'm stocked, for a couple of months anyway. Time to start looking online I guess.....
