Re: It's Time for National Reciprocity

IIRC, years ago (ok, maybe not that many), the Fed's "persuaded" all 50(?) states to change their individual state laws to set the speed limit at 55. There was no federal law that made the speed limit 55, but rather, federal "persuasion" for the states to enact changes to their o...

Re: Hearing Protection Act - effect of state law

My understanding is that at present, there are multiple versions of a potential Hearing Protection Act, each slightly different, which potentially could be passed and sent to the new President for his signature. That being said, there is apparently at least one version floating around, which will ef...

Re: Ruger LCP On Sale

Every now and then, the Ruger LCP Custom goes on sale in the $219 range.

Some people prefer the upgrades on the Custom version, and depending upon your needs, you may want to wait to catch the LCP Custom on sale for ~$20 more than the standard version.

Re: Houston Zoo Current CC Policy

I wonder if we need the 2017 Legislature to enact a "clean up" Bill, which statutorily requires the AG to issue an opinion within X number of days?

90 ?
180 ?
45 ?

Re: Katie Couric's doc violated interstate firearms transfer laws?

And if BATFE does not follow up on these tips, it would be interesting if someone were to make a Freedom of Information request, and see just how many of these "tips" of the same crime were received, and ignored, by them.

I'm certain lame-stream media would ignore that, as well.

Re: Paratransit website states no weapons or firearms

Good idea. I like getting things in writing, as opposed to verbally over the phone, so I'll send an e-mail, and see if they respond. The "Contact Us" page has a customer service number. Did you call them and ask for some information on that entry? They may have just forgotten to remove it ...

Re: Paratransit website states no weapons or firearms

I just came across the following: The Brazos Transit District (BTD) is a political subdivision of Texas that Texas Transportation Code Chapter 458 authorized to establish in 1974, and therefore receives state funds for transit services. Now, BTD serves as a rural transit district (RTD) for 21 counti...

Paratransit website states no weapons or firearms

Out of an abundance of caution, before I reply back to an out-of-state (Texas recognizes his state's carry permit) friend who is considering visiting and using the service, I would appreciate feedback as to the enforcability of the verbage on their website, and possibly physical signage on the parat...

Re: Fort Worth Mayfest

I really, really like this idea. Make the property owner apply for a 30.06 sign and provide a justification... Hmmm... "justification" you say ? Well, perhaps what is good for the goose is good for the gander, so how about: "Property owners who have a “good reason” to feel threatened...

... and, please keep Charlie in the loop, so he can bundle this with all the others, and discuss with the Legislature, for any "clean-up" legislation that may be necessary in 2017: https://www.texasfirearmscoalition.com/index.php/forms-main/tfc-30-06-upload and i suppose there is also no h...

Re: Dallas Zoo’s gun ban found to be legal by Texas AG

Wondering if there will be enough momentum in 2017 to do a few 2A "clean-up bills", including 46.035 ?

I agree with those who believe it is time for 46.035 to be struck.
