Good call!locke_n_load wrote:Looks like that holster (safariland?) is a paddle holster with additional loops for a belt (and it looks like the belt is holding it up).casp625 wrote:Do I spy with my little eye... a paddle holster showing under "Example of Holsters -> Belt Holster" ?!

However, the Serpa on page 11 (Automatic Restraint) definitely looks like the paddle only is being used (belt is not supporting the holster).
Good find!

Re: What is a belt holster
That part in bold was for trying to carry into the secured portion of an airport... HB554Rutty wrote:Ok I hate to revive this especially since I am a newbie. I personally carry a IWB Remora holster with 2 or 3 different guns. It is friction that holds it in the pants. There are no loops, retention devices that attach to the outside of the pants.
So let's say we are going somewhere that doesn't have the 30.06 sign but does have 30.07. We are tucked in before entering but upon seeing the sign pull the shirt out as to conceal the firearm.
My reading of the new law seems to point that it MUST be on a belt. We can fight about what on a belt means but the Remora would definately not qualify as on the belt. Therefore I would say a true belt holster is in need.
The good thing is now the statute Adds the actor cannot be arrested for the sole offense of possessing a handgun that he or she is licensed to carry, unless a police officer gives the actor the opportunity to leave the area and he or she does not immediately comply.
All the police I know don't care what type of holster it is open or concealed as long as the firearm is safely in the possession of the licensed individual HOWEVER if something were to happen that could be used as a point of contention.
I for one will most likely just switch to the belt holster and go that route and not worry about printing anymore. LOL.

Re: What is a belt holster
For those who carry IWB: Are you going to carry in the same position OWB for OC? I tend to think that muscle memory would be beneficial but since I carry at the 4-4:30 position, I'm debating whether I should keep it there or move it closer to 3 o'clock...

Here is the law, however, I can't find which bill this language was added to, so I don't know the date:AverageJoe wrote:Please forgive what may be a noob question and I know that it is a little off topic but I see that you carry at church. I have read a few other members' posts which discussed carrying at church. I thought that we could not carry in a place of worship. Did something change in the last few years?oljames3 wrote:Glockster wrote:
I consider all three to be belt holsters. I wore my OWB Fobus paddle holster to church this morning, under my suit coat. It was the most comfortable choice, today.

Re: What is a belt holster
How does a paddle holster differ from any IWB holster? Technically, my IWB holster clips can be slipped over underwear, basketball shorts, any bottoms without a belt, etc... Using this logic, only an OWB holster that threads the belt through the holster would qualify
