Re: Curious as to what the instructors/“experts” carry?
Instructor during my class was carrying a glock 27, was a LEO and carried a 23 while on duty. As to the LCP as a first carry, that was and still is my normal carry gun, but even so I try to discourage people new to shooting from buying one. Still trying to convince the other half to take up shooting...

Re: Austin based Yeti quits doing business with NRA
Hard to beat the price on Palm coolers. http://palmcoolers.com/product/85-litres-90-quarts/ Looks like a good cooler but doesn't have the insulation of a pelican or rtic. My 45 quart pelican is more or less the same external dimension as a 65 quart palm. That would indicate that the walls are mich ...

Re: Austin based Yeti quits doing business with NRA
I don't really understand the point of expensive, high end coolers. For just a matter of a few Washingtons, you can get yourself a large styrofoam container that can work just as well if not better than the high end stuff. Our company has a vendor that ships items to us in those containers packed w...

Re: Is the .40 dead?
The two pistols I carry are in 380 and 40. Normally it's the little 380, but if I'm going somewhere crowded I carry the 40 for the extra capacity. I don't own a 9 but I don't feel a significant recoil from 18p grain 40 compared to the 9s that I have fired. My steel frame 1911 in 45 recoil much less ...

Re: How's your shootin'
I don't have pictures of it but we drilled holes in a 2x4, inserted golf tees in the holes and shot paintballs off the tees with a 17hmr at 50 yards. It was a fun game but we needed a longer range, 50 with a scope was a little too easy.

Re: Electronic Ear Protection
I really like the sports i have, but I also shoot only outdoors. I know you said you don't plan on using them for long guns, so you may never need this but i can't fire my ar while looking through the scope without pushing the muff off my ear with the stock. I have tried a couple of stocks and have ...

Mine is inside but I also use dessicant inside both the safe and ammo cans to reduce any humidity. I just have to change them out 2-3 times a year.

Re: Kel-Tec SU-16C - Advise Appreciated!
.....I have not seen what prices they are going for. These days you can probably find a lightweight AR for near the same price. Maybe not that light. If I understand correctly, a true "AR" is like a universal modular platform? In other words, you can mix and match parts. While the Kel-Tec...

Re: Thought to Ponder with a Few Idle Minutes
My ar15 with a decent factory load shoots far better groups than my r700 .270 bolt action using the rounds I deer hunt with. Both guns are probably more accurate than I am really capable of using.

I do this frequently, one of the pumps at the station I normally use runs 3-4x slower so I don't use it unless it's the only one open. I know I look like a jerk when I do it though.Scott B. wrote:People who don't pull forward to the open pump to fuel.

Re: Franklin Armory coming out with non-NFA 11.5” AR variant
I'm definitely curious. Too bad things like this and the shockwave type shotguns don't just prove how ridiculous most of the nfa regulations are so they can be abolished. That's what logical people would.... oh wait this is government bureaucracy we are dealing with.

Re: 300BLACKOUT pistol build suggestions
Not exactly related to BCG or optic but is relevant to a 300 pistol. A friend of mine built a 300 pistol and had a lot of issues getting it to run right. Finally got a H2 buffer and put in it, so you might want to start with a heavier buffer as well. Mine was dinging the cases at the mouth from hit...

Primary arms 1-8x with acss reticle. Then you have some adjustable zoom and drop compensation built in from 100-800 yards.
