Re: State Park and Army Corp of Engineer

Am I premature in thinking that Morris vs. US Army Corps of Engineers has some bearing on this?

Re: Boy reaches inside dad's pocket and discharges a Kel-Tec

After reading the story, my question is: where did the bullet go? "Neither the boy nor the three adults required medical treatment." ... "The restaurant floor wasn’t damaged, nor was any other property." So the boy got a fragment in the foot, grandad got some fragments in the low...

Re: August 2014

Thanks, proheath, for the tips on checking status. But even better, I got my plastic in the mail today! Timeline: 7/13/14: Applied online. 7/23/14: electronic fingerprints in McKinney. 8/02/14: CHL class (Red River Firearms in Sherman -- a great place!) 8/04/14: submitted my CHL-100, along with a co...

Re: August 2014

My status on RSD's site does not even reflect receipt of application. You're one of several people who's mentioned checking your status on the RSD site. I haven't been able to find that feature, and until now I figured it was an older feature that was no longer available. Can you post a link to the...

Re: August 2014

I applied on 7/13, and did my fingerprints a few days later, a couple of weeks before taking the class. I submitted my CHL-100, along with a copy of the application confirmation email, online on August 4th, but have not received any confirmation about those documents -- should I have received one? A...

Re: No CHL: can I take my pistol to a shop, or to a gun show

Yep, I think these comments both make sense and are based on a wise consideration for the policies and sensibilities of the venue. Thanks! :tiphat: What I'm really curious about is how the law views the notion that a non-CHL-holder may sometimes need to carry a handgun from his car, across a parking...

No CHL: can I take my pistol to a shop, or to a gun show?

Hi All, New member here; thanks for having me. Not yet having my CHL, I carry only at home and in the car, two places I know I'm allowed to carry (PC 46.02(1) and (2)). But I'm in need of a new holster and would like to take my pistol to a gun show or to a local gun shop to check for holster fit bef...
