Re: May 2014

My wife should be getting her this week. Her profile updated early last week showing the Change of Address/Lost/Stolen Choices.. I've had mine since July 6th. We submitted everything on the same day.

My status has now changed to mailed. Looks like I may have license in hand this time next week. It's nice getting a second update so soon. Yesterday, the first and today the second. It's like pulling teeth to get an update! Literally! I was waiting 56 days and I had to go to the dentist to get my wisdom teeth out (been putting it of go over 20 years) and I was sitting in the waiting room and decided to check my status even though I checked it about an hour before. And that's when I got the update.
What time was that at? Or around?
Yesterday was around 8:50AM
Today 8:15 (this could've changed yesterday)

Although my wife's hasn't changed from (Background Check: Under Review).

Re: May 2014

This is what the law states:

The department shall, not later than the 60th day after the date of the receipt
by the director’s designee of the completed application materials
:
(1) issue the license;
(2) notify the applicant in writing that the application was denied:

Here is what people fail to realize: It's not completely received unless the "Director's Designee" has "received" them. Meaning that they have everything in hand and everything has been marked as received. So I could have mailed everything in January 15th and if my CHL-100 has not been marked as received by the the "Director's Designee", then the 60 day count down has not started.

In my case, as of June 24th, DPS stated they have not received my CHL-100. I mailed it to them on May 2nd, but they have not marked it as received. So as the law states, my 60 days has not even started yet, even though it's been almost 56 days since I mailed it.

Well that gives me no hope. Day 45. I'm just going to stop checking until 60. :mrgreen: :waiting:
I've seen where it's taken less than 1 month and I've seen where it's taken someone 4 months. So really there's no "Magic Number of Days" The thing I've learned here is, you get it when you get it!

There is absolutely no change in my online status which is a bit fustrating so either DPS is just spinning me crap to get me to shutup or the online status is just not to be trusted sometimes. You would think that once your app is actually being processed the website would be updated and somewhat accurate, apparently not in my case, though I think there was someone else that said they received their license before anything was updated online.

We'll see what actually happens, but this is encouraging news.
I know many people who had their CHL in hand without ever seeing a status change.

So I need to keep an eye on my mailbox instead of my status!!! :thumbs2:

so the wait has begun...well in my mind the wait is cut in half because I work up in Alaska 2 wks on 2 wks off..haha..
well I'll be... checked my status last nite and everything is checked green, mfg pending. Less than 30 days...Ill take that...What sucks is I head back to Alaska on Wed and wont be back til July 11th...
checked late last nite and now switched to mfg... slim possibility it gets here before I leave on Wed for 2 wks... oh well..Under 30 days is still decent in my book.
plastic in hand... will wait til I get back from Alaska in July before I make my first trip with it since I leave in the morning...my holster from Stealth Gear isn't supposed to be here til end of this week or next.

Congratulations!!!! :txflag:

I did receive the email stating they have received the documents and please allow 6 weeks for processing. Hopefully it will not start the process over again and I have to wait 6 more weeks, since I've already waited almost 8.
When you say you sent off your documents I'm assuming you resent the CHL-100 and the "checklist". I wanted to do the same, but the only way I can print my checklist is to print the whole webpage from my e-mail. Is this how you went about doing this? Did you just take photos of the paper work or did you scan it and send it?

I scanned them in and submitted it here: https://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/contact/chl.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As for the checklist, I just printed the email sent to me once I completed the Application. (This is the one with the Bar code) I did have an issue with my email not letting me print because it kept taking the barcode off of the email, so I copied the email and pasted it onto a Word Doc.
