Re: Walther CCP

Guess I'll be forced (forced! I tell ya) to look for that PPS. An excuse to hit the gun show at Reliant Center weekend after next?

Re: Jesse Ventura wins $1.84M in defamation suit v. Chris Ky

His rep was shot long ago and this court 'victory' won't fix any of the self-inflicted damage.

Walther CCP

Has anybody had a chance to handle/shoot a CCP yet?

If so, what are you thoughts?

I've been thinking about picking up a Walther PPS, but the new CCP has me intrigued.

Re: A Green Cross To Bear - the Japanese surrender flights

The formal surrender right in Tokyo Bay was pretty spectacular. The might of the Pacific Fleet safely at anchor in Japanese home waters, documents signed on the deck of a battleship, with waves of combat aircraft flying overhead -- it was an awesome show of force and a scene we'll never see the like...

Re: A Green Cross To Bear - the Japanese surrender flights

Used to drive by/to Atsugi NAS a bunch and would almost always think about MacArthur landing there for the first time before the official surrender ceremony.

Re: Wife says "OK", let the building commence

You'll have a lot of fun assembling the lower and gain confidence in your knowledge about the rifle in the process. Depending on the instructions you're following, when they mention "...use tape to avoid nicks/scratches..." it's a good idea. I use painters tape to mask key parts of the low...

Active License Holders

I know it's been mentioned before, but as a new CHL licensee I love that the state makes this information available. http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/chl/reports/demographics.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Those older wait times are understandable looking at the 2012 ~ ...

Re: Okay, don't kill me but I got mine in 20 days

Congrats to you for finally getting yours. That's a hell of a wait!

I'm in the 'reevaluating my holsters, what I carry, and clothing options' phase, now that I've got my license. It's a little silly, but I was perfectly happy with my guns and holsters before yesterday. ;-)

Thanks! Think I'll buy a new gun to celebrate :patriot:

I was fully anticipating a 50 ~ 60 day wait so this was a very pleasant surprise.

Okay, don't kill me but I got mine in 20 days

Over the weekend I was frustrated to find I couldn't check the status of my application on the CHL web site, so of course the mailman delivered a nice surprise this afternoon. FYI: Submitted all my material online exactly 20 days ago. First time application. I was waiting on a supplemental informati...

Believe you're right. Waiting is hard...and kind of old fashioned. Maybe I'll develop character. :-)

Checking application status

Went to the Regulatory Services Division web site, but I don't see a darn thing about checking your application status. One decision branch for new users applying, another for returning users. Screenshot_2014-06-30-15-04-33.png I selected returning user. No Joy. Screenshot_2014-06-30-15-04-14.png Am...
