Got phone call from Austin today, saying mine was in the mail today and it allow for 10-14 days for delivery. The lady the called me was very nice and cordial; also she was very eager to answer my questions.

She reported to me that the CHL program was going thought some re-vamping. The website is being upgraded and that they are hoping to streamline the process more.

Both my State Rep and Senator called me today told what they have been hearing from their constituents about the CHL office is unacceptable. They both told me they would be looking into the issue more once the State Legislature reconvenes in a few months.

For those of you who have been waiting longer longer than 60 or have called the DPS CHL office and hung up on or had rude operator; I highly suggest you contact your states reps. Both mine very extremely helpful.

I waited about 20 minutes to call back, hoping to get another operator, low and behold...same one. When I identified myself on the phone, I was told by her that she had already told me my status and then hung up again.

How are you guys getting through? I must have called 4-5 times on Monday, 4-5 times on Tuesday, and three times today; and all I get is the pre-recorded message. When you push 1 for CHl, the system tell me there is a high call demand and says to try back later and then hangs up.

Same here, for the last 30 days the usual "we have received your application and now awaiting docs." Now it's the "select the application you which to apply for."

Senator Craig Estes and Rep Scott Sanford represent me, they will be getting a phone call from me on day 61. Both are very pro gun and pro 2A. I dont think I will have a problem

From what I understand, the DPS has 60 days to do one of three things: Issue your license, request more info. from you, or issue a denial. If none of that happens within 60 days, I'd be contacting my state representative.[/quote]


This is exactly what my instructor told me to do, if I did not have plastic in hand within 60 days.

5/27/2014 - Recieved email from Dannette Cabellero stating all documents received via email

Application submitted on line - 5/21/14

Class Completed - 5/18/2014

Prints done - 5/23/14

Paperwork - CHL - 100, FAST print form, Check list w/ bar code mailed to state on 5/23/2014.

So I should get it by the time to renew it.
