Re: Present CHL if not carrying?

I have never understood why someone would NOT want to present it. You are not doing anything wrong. You are giving him information voluntarily that will make him feel more comfortable, that can only work in your favor. I have had two opportunities/interactions with law enforcement since getting my C...

National Parks, all park buildings are off limits. Be careful on any reservations. Maybe your comma is confusing me. National Parks allow licensed concealed carry. Are you saying the buildings in the parks are off limits? Yes. http://www.nps.gov/yell/parkmgmt/lawsandpolicies.htm" onclick="...

Road Trip, NM, CO, WY, MT, ID

Taking a bit of a road trip, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, etc. Have read the laws for the states I am passing through. While it all blends together, my takeaway is that they all have reciprocity, "gun buster" signs are legal in some of the states. My plan is to adhere to the signs, show my p...

Re: When is my handgun on or about my person...question?

I understand it's semantics, but to be sure, I'm not "worried". I'm just trying to determine a seemingly gray area for me with regards to not having a way to lock the gun up in a trunk. I'm absolutely not condoning alcohol consumption and carrying, but in the event I'm returning home and ...

Re: First encounter with CHL

You don't need the best hand to win... Bet sizing, betting patterns, etc... Yeah getting dealt 72offsuit all night long would be "unlucky"... It is what you do with the hands that is important. While I agree that the betting and play of the hand is critical, even the best in the game need...

Re: First encounter with CHL

If that had been me, I would figure that I had used up all my luck on the drive and and wouldn't even have gone on to play poker. "rlol" I don't play casino games that require "luck". I play poker. Still luck involved. You can be the best player in the world and be unlucky and d...

Re: First encounter with CHL

...He actually asked me what weapon I had, and I told him it was a S&W 9mm Shield to which he kind of nodded his head. Found it a little odd that he asked about the particular weapon I had. Why was that odd? Cops can be interested in guns, too! Sure they can... But standing by the side of the r...

First encounter with CHL

Well I had my first encounter last night... It was with the police in Durant OK. I was driving to Choctaw to play poker. I have made this drive many, many times. I drive with a radar detector, but most of the drive is signed for 70 or 75 mph. At the most I typically might be 2-5 over that. As I was ...

No these are new applicants... Some from mid may, and several in June.

Re: Call your State Rep

So after emailing my state rep, I called and got through to RSD in Austin and my documents have been processed and they are finishing up the background check, Card should be printed and mailed next week. Call your representatives if you're having legitimate issues with the process, it infact sped u...

Re: Call your State Rep

I would encourage everyone discussing this with there Rep to also discuss fixing the process. It is great to get our CHL apps out of the black hole. But if we can help improve the process along the way, it helps everyone.
