Re: 2017 Legislative Priorities
I'm not optimistic about the chances of this, but for cases in which state agencies or (more likely) political subdivisions improperly post 30.06 signs, what about giving aggrieved licensees a private cause of action for something like a $1,000 fine plus reasonable attorneys fees and court costs? I...

Re: Andrea Brauer: Texas should provide free gun locks to save lives
When I lived in Commiecornia on several occasions the gun vendor refused to either sell me a gun or hand it over after the waiting period because the gun lock they're required to sell me (and I have to pay for) was out of stock. In most cases the law doesn't mandate free locks....this isn't birth co...

Re: Public Library in Katy (Cinco Ranch) with a "clever" sign... Grrr
Houston Zoo has the same signs. It's pure intimidation. They've just quoted a section of Texas penal code and hung it on their front door. Doesn't mean it applies, they're just quoting a random section of law. If the library is an educational institution, what degree do they offer? Even if they did ...

Houston Zoo - any updates?
I haven't seen anything on this in a while, but last thing I saw, 30.06 signs came down and new signs claiming the zoo is an educational facility (a.k.a a school) went up. Has anything happened since then? Is there still an effort going on to have the signs removed? Are the signs even enforceable? T...

Re: 2017 Legislative Priorities
Do you have any evidence insurance companies are doing what you say they are? As of yet I have seen no one produce one shred of evidence indicating they are requiring businesses post no gun signs or charging higher rates. I don't have correspondence from insurance companies to businesses but severa...

Re: 2017 Legislative Priorities
How about legislation to prohibit insurance companies from imposing higher rates on businesses (or anyone) if they don't post 30.06 and 30.07 signs. Forcing your customers to comply with the political will of the insurance companies by imposing excessive fees for not doing so is just wrong. There is...

Re: John Eagle Honda Signage Report
If the owner of the car dealership was as interested in 2A rights as you are, he would have sent a similar letter to the insurance company in question and found another insurance provider. There are plenty of commercial insurance providers that have no such requirements. I'm sure the NRA could point...

isn't anyone going to call "RACIST!!!1111!"
after all, how is this any different than a literacy test followed by a wealth test.
...and I bet they'll want to see a driver's license too. Good thing there's no voting involved!

new laws...so what's changed?
I'm having a hard time finding real facts about what the new laws on Jan 1st will mean for CHL holders so I thought I'd post them and see if others have answers...or more questions. Here's what I got - 1) I heard that penalties for violating 30.06 are being reduced and it is no longer a misdemeanor ...

I believe SB17 will not allow OC or CC anywhere that is it is not already allowed.
SB11 Allows CC on college campuses but NOT OC.

Re: March 2014 Applications

Re: May 2014
mailed my paperwork in on 5/12 - everything else was filed in January (I didn't want to submit my paperwork until we moved to the new house so I wouldn't have to go through MORE paperwork for change of address). Web site status still not updated. called today (6/17) and after 40 minutes on hold was ...
