Bozz48 wrote:I wish that DPS would at least send a confirmation e-mail that they have received our documentation. It's been 45 days since I mailed it via first class mail, and I have yet to get any update on the website. If I knew then what I know now, I would have bought a scanner and submitted it all on-line.
The only thing you need to scan is the CHL-100 (Unless you are a vet or out of state) the rest of the application is already online. Even so you can take a picture of the CHL-100 with your phone and upload that.

Hopefully i will have mine before thanksgiving! I submitted everything online on Sep 15th, DPS lost my CHL-100 and I had to resubmit. I am roughly at 65 days.

Re: September Apps

I am at 55 days of waiting with no update, I called DPS today and they said they never received my CHL100 (Even though I called before and they said they had it). They let me email it directly to a data entry person so they can enter it into the system. Hopefully i'll have my card in two weeks or so.

BewaffneteBürger wrote:Hello all,

Newbie CHL applicant here. USPS delivered my required forms to DPS on 09/20/2013, yet still no update online. Today I post-30 day called DPS and the lady I spoke with (and I did ask her to repeat herself) told me that not only has no data been entered for me, but they have absolutely no way of telling me anything until my "data" is entered. When I informed her that the USPS had delivered all of my documents to them on 09/20/2013, she responded that they still have no way of knowing and that I was welcome to call back next week. Any suggestions? Should I just leave it alone and continue to wait patiently or resubmit my documents online and write them an email inquiring as to my status? I like many don't have a problem waiting, but concerned about how DPS appears to arbitrarily keep one in the dark about the process due to being inundated with applications/renewals.

I called DPS and they lady i talked to said it takes 3 to 4 weeks for applications to be sent for data entry. She didn't say how long applications stay in data entry but once the application has been entered into the system the process moves fairly fast. Most one this forum have their CHL in hand with in a week or so from the first updated on the website.

Is the "special condition" because I'm military?
Man i'm so jealous! I just got off the phone with TX DPS and after a wait time of 30 min and a repeated message about a high influx of applications the lady I spoke to told me that my application has been sent for data entry. That's our wasted tax dollars at work right there! Why is there a need for data entry if i submitted everything online?!? I was also told that applications take 3 to 4 weeks just to be sent to data entry and applications can take up to 60 days now.

First time applicant here, I also submitted everything online.

My timeline is as follows:
09/09/2013 - Online Application filled out/paid (I never received the barcode email)
09/12/2013 - Submitted fingerprints
09/14/2013 - Completed CHL class/test/qualification
09/16/2013 - Submitted CHL-100 through TX DPS website
09/18/2013 - Called TX DPS and asked if all materials were received. The person I talked to put me on hold for 20 min while he looked for my documents and then told me all of the required documents have been received but there was an issue with my finger prints. The computer was having a hard time accepting them and he had to force it. He then said I should have my license in about 45 days.

Going with the date of 09/18 I am now at 33 days with out an update on the website. :banghead:

I emailed the TX DPS website asking about the barcode sheet and got this response:

"Thank you for using the Regulatory Services Division’s website.

The checklist and barcode page are only available online for 48 hours from the time you submitted the online application. Neither form is required for the training or the application process. You may mail in the application materials you have without it. You may include a hand written letter stating that you have already paid the fees online."
You check your spam filters? If you use Gmail log into it from your browser and see if you can find it.
I did before contacting the TX DPS and could not find it. According to the reply I do not need it and it is to late to request another copy.
