Re: Traveling to Michigan, layover in Chicago
Tomorrow I am traveling to Midland, MI for business. I planned on taking my pistol with me but since I'm laying over in Chicago, I'm worried about the legal ramifications of having my pistol checked in my luggage. My father says there's a law preventing me getting in trouble for passing through but...

Re: Traveling to Michigan, layover in Chicago
This is just my opinion: Safely store you gun at home and risk not having it. Chicago is insanely anti-gun. You don't want to end up in aChicago jail/prison. I agree, I changed my flight. Going without my firearm isn't an option. I have business in Saginaw, the 3rd most violent city in the US behin...

Re: My life could have changed in a second
I was in a situation similar to this on Surfside beach a few years back. A guy started slapping his lady friend around, I called the cops but they took about 25 minutes to arrive.eventually I had to step in to stop it because it got so bad. It was definitely the last resort though. He was a big guy ...

Re: Grayson County DPS
I usually do scan ahead looking, but was on the phone with a customer and had just hung up. As for just not speeding? Probably not going to happen, My territory is Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. I drive 1500+ miles a week for work and I'm usually pretty ready to get where I need to go. Though I don...

Grayson County DPS
Well, once again, I got pulled over in my company vehicle for speeding. Driving back from Pryor, OK I looked in my rearview and realized there was a Trooper behind me. I pulled over to the side of the road and had my DL, CHL and insurance handy. Once he approached I informed him that I was legally a...

Bought my first Glock today...
Took it straight to the range And I'm impressed. :thumbs2: I'm really a 1911 guy, my grandpa was a Texas Ranger and pounded into my head that if a gun was polymer it was just a toy. But I got a good deal on a gen 3 G22 .40 . I have to say, it performed as well as any pistol I own. May have to check ...

Alcohol & your CHL
Last night I met a buddy that I served with out at PF Changs. We got to talking about guns since both of us are pretty avid gun collectors and CHL holders, he stated that he was carrying his new P238. I was shocked, he'd had a few bourbons and was still carrying his firearm. I quit drinking after I ...

Re: Game warden Brazoria County
After the initial contact, I have seen the game warden several more times and had the chance to speak to him(twice while hunting). The powers he has are pretty broad but he isnt arrogant or rude about it. Just a very friendly guy, that is very serious about enforcing Texas game laws by the book.

Re: Game warden Brazoria County
He was quick, showed up, checked our kills, (13 hogs between 3 people) and was on his way. Very polite and professional. In this case, what do you mean "check your kills"? Making sure they were all hogs? Yes. According to him they've had quite a few people taking deer with rifles during b...

Game warden Brazoria County
Hog hunting this Saturday on my family's land, we were policing up the hogs we'd shot when the local game warden pulled up, after hearing some shots to check our kills( there's been some poaching in the area so they're pretty thick through our parts). I had my Rock River Arms AR .308 slung With a si...
