Re: September Apps
That's the worst feeling friend. Went to check my mail two Saturdays ago, after seeing a status of mailed the Thursday before, and knowing I wouldn't have it until Monday morning. You'll have it soon, just keep walking around your home with it concealed and work on your draw. Hopefully you will have practiced enough to survive the wally walk!escapedNJ wrote:I ended up finishing my work from home and the mail was here.. but nothing from DPS :( I knew it wasn't going to be here today, but i had to look....TrackinPat wrote:No, I got off at 11 and came running in so excited to see if it made it but alas... it has not arrived, my buddy who runs security at my work used to work for the post office for 30+ years, he said I will most likely get it tomorrow.escapedNJ wrote:I am probably a day behind you in mail... Yes it is. You get recognition for it on your license as "Veteran" under where it says Concealed Handgun License. Thank you for your service brother and happy carrying!
I applied in the middle of last month received it this past Monday. I applied as a Veteran, not while I was still in Active Duty.

Find it.. My instructor told me we he would charge $25 to get a copy.[/quote]escapedNJ wrote:That's a great idea, I hadn't thought of that. Now where's that dang CHL-100 I had. Rats! 25$?? that is dirty.
After 5 agonizing days of "mailed" status, it finally arrived. Now onward to Wal-Mart for my Wally Walk.

Sep 17-Mailed
Oct 17-Status: "Mailed"
Background check was under review for about two days, much shorter than what I thought it would be. Hopefully I'll have this baby in hand by Saturday so I can do a Target walk (Wal-Mart around here is too sketchy for my taste) on Sunday.

Re: September Apps
My guess is yours should be going up any moment. Mine just updated on a Saturday night to background check under review with all other items received. Hopefully the check only takes a couple days and I can do my Wally Walk by next week.escapedNJ wrote:I wish I submitted my online now... "Background check under review"
"CHL: print pending completion of application review"
It's happening! I was really worried because I submitted all docs electronically. It works! Now my poor husband has to wait for his. He had to renew his passport first so he is still waiting on that. But it's nice to know everyone is getting plastic in hand in about 30 days. CONGRATS ALL!

Re: September Apps
March 2011-Online Application (Never finished sending in required materials, ended up getting deployed shortly after, forgot about it)
June 2013-Took CHL class (Didn't take the test, A/C conked out at around 12pm, class was cancelled)
Sep 3rd- Called DPS to remove my application status from AD military to veteran since I have been out over a year.
Sep 8-Took test
Sep10-Finished online application
Sep 17-Fingerprinted
Sep 17-Mailed
Now I am giving the DPS servers a run for their money with how many times a day I check. It's still saying they are waiting on receipt of required materials on which I decided to email and ask if they have at least received an envelope. If in fact it got lost, I want to be able to send in the copies the next day certified (which I should have done the first time) or by email. I've lived in 4 different counties in three different states in the past five years, so I'm guessing my background check is going to take some time. I don't mind the waiting, I just want to know if they have even received it!

Re: September Apps
Yes. I'm also new here, and I sent mine in on the 17th regular mail. Still getting the same status required material status. I'm afraid mine isn't going to be getting here until well into October/November.EvoGTR wrote:Hello all, I'm new here.
Sent all my paperwork on the 13th, approximately 2 weeks ago today, been checking everyday this week but still no update! Just says waiting on required material. Anyone else in the same boat?
Does anyone know if it's been longer for Veterans? I pretty much listed my overseas addresses as well as stateside in order to maintain congruency.
