Apparently the case is still active. The CHL holder and the Hospital aren't saying anything since it is ongoing.

Just before this thread took off again today I contacted the OP, he has no new info but is going to see if he can track something down in the next few days for us.

I think this situation is a little strange. Police can take the CHL, along with your weapon and are required to, as evidence when you are arrested. The interesting thing is that he was not arrested and the weapon was not confiscated so taking the CHL is probably unlawful.
