In essence this is what we know:
There is no gun registration in Texas.
There are no consequences for carrying a gun that you did not buy through a dealer.

The dealer is required to retain the forms for 20 years and they are required to send those forms in should they go out of business. So the idea of the government getting those forms isn't too far fetched.
