Re: Non-NRA Approved Instructor Courses
Firearms were invented and intended to kill, be it animal or human, I agree to that statement.
All firearms are designed and intended to kill. That statement is patently false and no, I am not playing games,
If as an instructor someone was telling students to kill someone when using a firearm for self defense, I would strongly disagree with that advice.
Words do matter and we as instructors should take a higher road. Not being PC, but being realistic. This forum is read by more non members than members. Many are non gun folks that are interested in getting into firearms for whatever reason. Some reading these forums are anti-gun.
I personally am not teaching or instructing students to kill someone.
As I stated above, I respect your opinion. Mine is different, but you do have an interesting and different perspective.

Re: Non-NRA Approved Instructor Courses
My target pistols and rifles designed and intended for target practice, were really designed to kill someone?
You ask me to not use my pistol for self defense because I don't agree with you? A difference of opinion is not tolerated?
Even if I were to use my firearm in self defense, I'm not "trying" to kill anyone. If they die from me using legal deadly force, it happened, but it was never my intent to kill someone.
jmho, and I do respect yours and would never tell you how to think or even how to or not to..... protect yourself with anything you choose...... .

Re: Non-NRA Approved Instructor Courses
I am somewhat apprehensive about student information, sure...
NRA gives us the option whether you want to share the students information. I always check no. To my knowledge, no LTC student of mine has ever been contacted by the NRA or anyone else in all the years I've been instructing......
Address, phone number, age, etc. isn't difficult or even private anymore, imho. To prove my point, I showed a local LEO just that by typing his name and city of residence into Google......
Not only was his personal information available, but included a picture of their home with their cars in the driveway. He wasn't happy knowing any person with bad intent could Google that kind of information about he and his family.
I take them at their word they are not sharing or utilizing the information. I have no reason not believe them currently.
jmho.......and I'm sure not all share it...

Re: Non-NRA Approved Instructor Courses
lol....
I would say that most of us have chosen the easiest and least expensive way to meet the State's requirements for being LTC Instructors..........
Just a different perspective...........
There just aren't a lot of Nationally recognized certifications out there to choose from, imho............

Re: Non-NRA Approved Instructor Courses
The NRA changed their rules to allow to use non-NRA courses to keep Instructor credentials valid. We are under no obligation to teach NRA courses currently. The cost of the NRA credential renewal is minuscule compared to what we get in return. The NRA has been doing a heck of a lot for us, whether some see or believe it.........or not.....
