My P938 had the same problem after I loaned it out. I sent it back to Sig & they found the sear pin was broken. Apparently, someone let the hammer drop while the slide was off.

Try this: With the hammer cocked, the safety is hard to engage. Pull the hammer back and hold it. Does the safety engage easily? That''s the way mine behaved with the broken sear pin.
Thanks for the advice, I just tried that but it is the same, it may be that it's just tight and will work itself out in time.
True, it takes several hundred rounds and some cleaning to break in. I still struggle with the recoil spring assembly.

I have a 2013 P938 SAS without flaws. Sorry to hear about yours but SIG is good with waranty claims.

Re: Does anyone carry a Sig P938?

I carry mine in the summer month and I like it. I have a Desantis pocket holster like mentioned by another user earlier and a D. M. Bullard dual carry holster. The gun takes some break in, I have about 500+ through and it is much smoother now. Get the SAS, the rounded edges come in more comfortable if it sits in your pocket all day. Exercise a lot, it is a bit snappy. Don't use +p or better, don't assume you can hit a car at 100 yards, watch out for the recoil spring, get ready for loading some real tuff magazines, keep it lubed with the good sticky grease just where it is needed, clean it at least once a month (that pocket fuzz is everywhere). I had some feeding problems until I had about 150 rounds through it but past that there was not one hickup.
Most important: Don't carry it if you don't trust the SA mechanics!!! Keep it in a pocket holster and not loose in your pants.
It is so light, you may forget it is there. Watch out for this one!
