Woman threatens to shoot teachers/kids at my kid's elem scho
My daughter and the neighbor's little girl told me that Friday afternoon their school was on lockdown. I asked them what happened, they said they didn't know but the teachers were told to lock the door, turn out the lights, and get out of sight. Both of them said their teachers armed themselves with...

Re: Date night gone wrong
She has since called and apologized for 'overreacting' about the whole thing and offered to make it up to me. Ehhh no thanks. I stick to hanging out with my dog :fire :iagree: run away, far-far away :rolll I completely agree, run far far away. I would feel so much better if I went on a date and dis...

Re: Fear reaction: freezing
Thanks everyone for the comments. I love the idea of the pepper balls/paintball gun. My neighborhood is very hilly, and 12 feet out my back door is a huge hill and I think that is where the bobcat is coming from. I reinforced the fence to make it harder to come through, and stay closer to the door w...

Fear reaction: freezing
I have been in more than one terrifying situation in my life and have developed a tendency to freeze when very scared. I have been trying to overcome this the past 2-3 years, and I believe it has been getting better, but still have a few concerns. I thought I had this one conquered until a couple of...

Re: My 10yo daughter tries on a 22 rifle
I talked to an old friend tonight. He used to take me to the range when I was much younger. It turns out he is a gun/ammo hoarder lol. He said next time we come to Houston he will take us to the range and let my daughter shoot his pistols before we put the money out on a purchase. What a guy!

My 10yo daughter tries on a 22 rifle
I took my 10yo daughter and 15yo son to Walmart to pick up a few things we forgot for school. Before leaving, I headed to the sporting goods section to see if they had any ammo (they didn't). I was just about to head to the cashier when I saw a little pink 22 rifle. I called my daughter over and ask...

This makes me furious! Not a shred of truth to be found.philip964 wrote:

Probably not a good day for this to break out.

"Its go time" I hear this a lot on TV. Why don't they just say go, begin, or start?

Re: Top 20 Most Dangerous Neighborhoods
I grew up in #14, Indianapolis 46208. My family moved to TX in 1990. I've lived all over the country since then but thankfully was able to come back last year. I don't ever want to leave TX again, not even for vacation!

Re: Just Glocks in Copperas Cove (Coryell County)
I started shooting when I was 16, and it was with a 22. I agree it's the best to start a new shooter on something other than a 357, but I don't own one and I don't know any other gun owners out here. With ammo (and money) being so hard to come by, I have just tried to stick with one caliber and slow...

Just Glocks in Copperas Cove (Coryell County)
I have been going to Just Glocks range in Copperas Cove for about 8 mos. It costs $15 for a 2 hour limit, but never had someone tell me my time was up. I called there to see if there was a minimum age for kids. The employee said kids start shooting at 5 or 6 in Texas. There are no RSO's. It has 6 la...
