Re: TexasCHLforum Instructors' Conference

Chas. may I suggest that the meeting be held in central Texas thus allowing more instructors to attend? Austin area, mid afternoon would make this a 1 day trip for most. Just a thought.

Hotlead should you ever find yourself in the Wichita Falls area, look me up! I respect someone that is eager to expand their knowledge. In looking at your interests we have a great deal in common. Knowledge is intended to be shared.

Re: UTAH CHL Class/Ohio CHL

You are exactly correct, thank you! The post has been edited. My issue here is that this one individual put money before common sense. Why would one certify an individual to carry a firearm without the benefit of demonstrating the fact that they can in fact safely use a firearm.

Re: Places to stay

I would suggest staying at the hotel that is hosting your class. Support them just as they are supporting you. Also, you will meet many good people that are becoming instructors just like yourself. This is where you begin to network and build friendships that will benefit you and others in the futur...

Re: What is a good fingerprinting set-up?

The Sirchie "Stain-Less" PFP700 only requires a baby wipe to clean up. While the other ink they sell makes a better print, it requires GoJo handcleaner to clean up. Hope this helps!

Re: Is this a record?

I was very polite and as well spoken as I could possibly be. During the conversation I explained that as CHL holders, we had been fingerprinted, photographed, FBI background checked as well as trained. Then the best part, what can you say about your other customers? The size of the sign still amazes...

Is this a record?

Today while entering my credit union, I noticed a small piece of paper taped to the window. It was a 30.06 sign that measured 5"x6". The wording was all there in both english and spanish. The letters were small enough that I had to use my bifocals. Apparently this sign has been up for some...

Try the Texas State Rifle Assn. store. IIRC they are $5.00. While you are there, you might look into joining this fine organization. Hope this helps.

Re: Prison grounds?

An immediate supervisor would be contacted and a decision would be made thereafter. Each situation is different, think "totality of the circumstances". I could talk 24/7 for weeks and still not be able to convey everything we must deal with. Look at it this way, people get out of prison, t...

Re: Prison grounds?

Lets try to clear this up. I am the officer at the highway gate of one the largest units in the state. Upon your arrival, you will be asked if you have any weapons in your vehicle (i am expecting you to be honest). After documenting your arrival, I will perform a comprehensive search of said vechicl...
