Re: Carry at holiday parties
I just don't buy all the "absolute" posts... No gray or other options. Concealed is concealed. If I can't Carry I don't go. Unless they post a sign or specifically tell me I carry whether they like it or not. Let me throw out this hypothetical. Your mom hates guns. Always has. As a kid you...

Re: Carry at holiday parties
A lot of these posts deal in absolutes when there are some gray areas. For example, if I know a relative doesn't like guns I won't carry in their house. Even though they didn't say anything verbally, my knowing their position strikes me as getting notice..... I know not legally.... But I think moral...

Carry at holiday parties
With a lot of holiday parties upcoming, I wanted to throw a topic up for discussion. First, when invited to a friend/neighbor/relative's house for a holiday gathering.... do you carry? Do you ask the host their feeling on it first? I'm not talking alcohol consumption or anything like that. Just the ...

Re: Outback Steakhouse following Starbucks
I think this discussion boils down to one of personal commitment. I think all reasonable people will agree that the vast majority of businesses that post a "no guns" sign on their business, whether it is a legal sign in Texas or not, have the intent of not allowing people with guns to ente...

Lock your doors as soon as you get in. A lot of people let their guard down once in the car, they start it fiddle, with the radio, etc. A lot of cars don't lock until it is put in drive. You're an easy target sitting in a car.

Re: State Fair
I went on Sunday, when my turn at the wand came up I politely told the guy I preferred not to be wanded, he said no problem and pointed me to the LEO. He looked at my CHL and wished me a good day. No problems at all.

Re: Academy Sending A Certified Letter
I have been sort of holding back on this thread but I gotta jump in here... after reading all of the posts I have to admit that I am really shocked at the responses. To read some of the responses you would think that Academy was asking us for our right kidney. Are we all that busy and self centered ...

Re: Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo
By law you cannot carry at a professional sporting event.....sign or no sign it's illegal regardless of what the LEO said. Just because the LEO was ignorant of the law that won't help your defense if arrested. Yes, the pro rodeo is a professional sporting event. Don't carry.

Re: Academy Sending A Certified Letter
I got a phone call and letter too. It appears they got audited by the government and need to correct forms that didn't meet standard. In my case, one of my "no" check marks missed the box. While the intent was clear I didn't literally check the box. I went in and fixed it. Took less than 5...

I us the Nate squared (N82tactical.com) as my IWB and love it. Extremely comfortable. I have the original tuckable one....there are quite a few critical reviews of the pro version.

Re: No guns at fireworks...legal?
What was the outcome? Did you carry? Yes I did carry. I live within walking distance..... Long walk but better than driving...... Felt much better carrying. They did have a sign posted at the entrance, same wording that was on the website (not 30.06). All in all, great concert and fireworks and no ...

They mention bomb dogs but not metal detectors. Here's the link. http://www.flower-mound.com/index.aspx?NID=1087" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

No guns at fireworks...legal?
So I'm reading the Flower Mound website about the upcoming fireworks. At the bottom of the page they have a paragraph talking about Boston and increased awareness etc. and then say that because of this, no weapons of any kind will be allowed in the park for the festival and fireworks. Is this legal?...
