I agree with Dave - I don't like your chances in front of a judge or jury. Until there is caselaw, I consider it a risk.

Tex, I agree with you 100%. I've also served on enough jurys to know that your average civilian might not care if the sign isn't exactly compliant.
I also don't trust DA's (in some counties) to come to their senses and not pursue it, nor do I trust law enforcement to have enough "reasonable" knowledge of the law to know (or care) that specific compliance is required.
I have a basic respect for the rights of property owners. It's their property, their rules (in most cases). My property? My rules.

I've got a soul-sucking hybrid. Does that at least contribute to the stereotype?Abraham wrote:cb1000rider,

Or white boy dreads...
However, oysters and beer do make for a fine combination. If the oysters are fried. Especially if you're getting low on cholesterol...
BTW, vibrio vulnificus kills many folks each year by eating raw oysters, but not cooked ones...but, I digress as I often do.
No to both, but I understand the connection with hippies.. And perhaps affluent urban hippies... (I assume there is such a thing)
I've tried their oysters raw and they're OK - but they actually make a much better cooked oyster there.. I prefer a dozen of those. And they've got 100 beers on tap. It's one of the few places where you can get that type of beer "to go" if you're so inclined via a sealed growler.
And Dave, I don't drink and carry - I'm far too paranoid about it. So the mungingly-worded 30.06 sign doesn't really bother me in this particular situation. I don't buy groceries there, but I do stop by for oysters and beer... I understand the opposition to the signs and support those that shop with their wallets.

Abraham, where else can I eat a dozen oysters and drink draft beer while shopping for over-priced groceries? The place is unique in some ways.. :-)

I'm with JMRA. I know what the law says. However, I'm not about to stand up in front of a jury (or judge) and say that the lettering was 1/4" off or whatever the technical issue was. It's like missing the forest for the trees.
