Looks can be deceiving.

And this was over a year ago now...

Re: record wait?

jgue wrote:Hello everyone. Im new to this site but im already hooked.
my application was sent in on 12/15/05. after about 90 days
I called and they told me that my app had been sent to the wrong
dept. they had not done anything about it untill I called.
around the end of April I was notified that during the background
check,a short hospital stay I had showed up,so now I had to get some
paperwork that they sent me,filled out by my D.R.(phsyciatrist)
(I was diagnosed with depression two years ago).
My doc gave me the ok so I got everything mailed back to Austin.

To day I called and they told me that the medical board has my
app. but they only reveiw cases every other week.
and this aint the week, so it looks like it will be at least two more
weeks before I know anything. It lookes like it will be close to six
months before everythings wrapped up,its been a long wait :totap:
Looks like I have to relinquish the title of longest wait... mine was "only" 120 days. I guess I only get to have the longest wait for someone who didn't get "additional information" requested. Too bad, I was hoping to keep that title - not because I wanted the title, but because I didn't want anyone else to "get" to beat my score.

AggieMM wrote:Are there any other 80+ people like me still hanging around in the waiting room?
I didn't know about this waiting room when I was waiting or I would have been waiting with you. Although that was over a year ago now...

Packet HAND DELIVERED to DPS on 2 December, 2004.
License received about 1 April, 2005.

Funny thing though - that coded date on the side says 10 December, 2004 as the "active" date but that doesn't corespond to the website activated information or when I actually received it.

edgarou wrote:hello everyone first time posting just have a question how long does the CHL take to arrive in the mail it got approved friday 4/14/06
I waited almost 4 months from jan.13 till friday when it got approved.
Uh... is my math off or is that only 3 months? 90 days still is unacceptable, but not as bad as 120.

I guess I blew the curve...

Today. All legally required time frames start the day they receive your packet. Not the day you receive your PIN.

Only you know your kids - but I do subscribe to the "start them young" philosophy. My oldest is turning 4 in about 2 months and I expect to take him to the range with me sometime in the next year. Guess that means I need to get a smallish .22 rifle

aggie dad wrote:This morning I am at 85 days and the website still says processing application. Called the 800 # to inquire about status and they told me the license would be mailed out this afternoon and to allow 7-10 days for delivery. I guess I should be happy about that, however, I really do not see why there should be such differences in turnaround time, unless a submittal was incomplete, the finger prints were unidentifiable, or someone had some issues in their past.

Oh well, I hope everyone else in process has better luck!
Looks like we might have someone closing in on my record. I managed to get near 120 days (nothing rejected or anything like that) so I REALLY know the feeling. I hope nobody gets the "priviledge" of taking this record away from me.

Since you actually spoke to somebody about this, I bet you will have it next week.

Priorities, man!

Congrats on 2 fronts, barres! Time for no sleep for a while again... my 10 month old just started sleeping through the night about a month ago. Second time around for me as well.

I haven't had the time to verify the information in this post - but I hope someone around here does have the time...

If this is true, can we get this added to the 2007 list?

But the clock starts when they receive the application. The day it gets to their office either in the mail or hand delivered (like I did), not the day they get it entered into the system.

Glad you got the message change though - wahoo!

I wish I could be surprised at your treatment.

Might I suggest a call to your state rep is in order? Tell them that the DPS isn't following the law. And if you don't want to call your rep - try Suzanna Hupp or Ron Paul.
