I wouldn't rule out simple incompetence. In the immediate aftermath of a disaster, there is always a lot of confusion.Paladin wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 10:30 am There was clearly deception involved in this missing flight. The initial search area was off the coast of Vietnam when Thailand already knew the aircraft had flown over Thailand to the Indian ocean. Engine telemetry data was suppressed and what data was finally released was clearly fake.
Somebody didn't want anyone to ever find that airplane.

Regardless, the FDR and CVR would have survived, altho batteries dead by now.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 2:12 pmAt the altitude this plane fell from, I would think it would have disintegrated into a whole lot of tiny pieces. Maybe not. It would be nice to have a few answers about what actually brought it down.ELB wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 9:31 amI think there will be "something." They still find WWII planes in the Pacific waters. Not in great shape, but they are recognizable. I think it will be possible that the data on the flight data recorders can be recovered, if they can find them.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 4:57 pm
I have to wonder if there is going to be anything left to find. If it has not been corroded by the water yet, it is likely covered in silt.

Re: Malaysia Airlines Flight Vanishes
I don't know Malaysian security requirements, but in US carriers, a pilot is not allowed to leave the flight deck until a flight attendant (or other crew) comes in to watch the door. Then when that pilot returns, the flight attendant verifies who it is and lets them in. The other pilot is not allowed to leave his seat to let someone in.

Re: Malaysia Airlines Flight Vanishes
I'm not surprised at all. I used to fly a military jet in that part of the world. The radar and voice coverage is spotty once you get away from land. I've been between countries over water with no voice or navaids for hours. Unless you have satellite comm (and use it, which I read MH 370 did not subscribe to), you can disappear very easily, intentionally or not.cb1000rider wrote: I wonder if we'll find this thing in the next year or next 20 years... It still amazes me that something this big can just disappear.
