Well I found out today the differences between national and state banks. National banks are regulated by the National Bank Act of 1864. State banks are regulated by the Federal Reserve System or the FDIC. It also regulates how much they lend and dividends they pay. But I still don't see any reason that would make it illegal to carry in one or the other. I'm putting a link to the website I got the information from.

I made a large deposit last week at the bank. I took mine off before I went in because I wasn't sure. Yesterday I asked the vice president of the bank and he said it isn't posted and we can carry. He said if it was a national bank I couldn't. But a state bank is ok. The banker I asked also owns the gunshop here in Brownfield and does the local CHL classes. I'm not quite sure about the national vs. state bank thing though.
