I don'know if Denton County is fast or normal, but my application went through quickly once I remembered to sign my fingerprint cards.

I am a green card holder, and I had no problems getting my CHL - other than forgetting to sign my fingerprint cards

.45ACP isn't known to be a good hog round. A buddy caught one in a trap and wanted to finish it off with his .45. Every time he shot it it popped back up on him. I think it took him 7 rounds. It was like a 3 Stooges bit after a while.

Now you have 3 wounded hogs running around....

It's not as one sided as you might think. Go to: http://www.johnrlott.com for links to some anti gun free zone editorials. My favorite is at: http://www.opinioneditorials.com/guestcontributors/hevans_20070418.html which ends with: "No one wants to be faced by a murderous lunatic with a gun. But...

Grains to Grams

Does anybody out there have a conversion factor for grains to grams or grains to ounces?

Mine took 70 days exactly from the time I took the course to plastic in hand. That includes the two days I took before mailing in the package, and the time it took to return the fingerprint cards which I forgot to sign. Had I been on the ball, I'm sure my permit would have been in my hands in 50 day...

Happy St Plastics Day

3/30 I have my permit. Thumbs up to the Regulatory Licensing Service. Seventy days since I actually took the course, including the time I took to finish and mail in the application and to recover from failing to sign the fingerprint cards. Whatever issues they may have had in the past, they have the...

I'll back up that recommendation.

There seem to be quite a few happy Bersa Thunder .380 owners on this board. I'm one of them. If you can, go to a range and try one out.

Did you notice how the paper tried to "load" the question? They made it about protecting property instead of protecting one's own safety and that of others.

The intent of the Castle Doctrine is personal safety, not property protection.

It still didn't get them many "anti" votes

I just checked - guess what? 3/26 Application Completed - license issued or certificate active It happened over the week end. Imagine that. I must say that I'm impressed with the quick processing time. Less than 3 weeks to get the fingerprint results back from the FBI and the State Troopers is prett...

Longtooth Nailed It

Fortunately, it's not a fashion show, and it really doesn't matter since we're supposed to keep it concealed anyways. I carry a Bersa Thunder .380 in an Uncle Mike's Sidekick, two spare 9 rounders in a $10.00 carrier. Nothing pretty or fancy here. It all fits well and conceals well, and I can wear i...
