Re: Henry Lever Octagon .22 LR/.22 Short
Received my first Henry for Christmas, round barrel, blued 30-30. Beautiful weapon, which I began hunting with immediately. Took a bad fall New Years eve, going up a rough spot I new better than to attempt and put a nasty gouge in the stock. I wasn't worried about it, as its a tool, and scratches ar...

Re: Kids and guns
I will echo what many have already said about taking the mystery out of guns. I grew up on a ranch, with guns literally in every corner of the house. From my earliest memory, the rule was, "if you want to see and handle one of the guns, come and ask. If you touch one without permission, you wil...

Re: Which pistol for pocket carry?
So, on your list, I love the Sig 938, but you need a roomy pocket to accommodate pistol plus pocket holster. As far as others, I have a Ruger LCP that is with me almost always, and always in a pocket. Very light, very reliable, accurate to a point (that point being about 15 yds), and dirt simple to ...

Re: A Round in the Chamber Carry?
Everyone must do what they feel comfortable with. That said, when I'm packing for defense, I always carry with one in the chamber, but that also means there are some pistols I don't carry for defense because I can't get comfortable with one in the chamber. I know I'm going to start a fight here but ...

Weatherby Orion I--Any experience?
Browsing shotguns, saw a Turkish made Weatherby Orion I, over/under shotgun for $890. The gun seems well made, but can't find any reviews from real users. The price seems too good to be true for an O/U. Is there anyone out there with real experience. Not to be confused, these just came out this year...

Re: Whataburger's Gun Policy (Ugh)..........
I have a problem here. Im not a fan of OC & dont plan to ever OC - but the reality is Whataburger is infringing on 2A rights - and some here are ok with it cuz it doesnt directly affect them.... AT THIS TIME ... "Then they came for me" You may have a problem, but I see it as your unde...

Re: My son is right handed; left eye dominant
I am right handed, left eye dominant. Additionally, the vision in my right eye is substantially worse due to an oddball astigmatism. I was frustrated by shooting through most of my youth until my parents saw a movie called "Firebirds" and realized that was my problem. I started shooting le...

Re: Recommendations for Pocket Carry in Jeans?
My favorite is the Ruger LCP, but I also carry a Sig 938 on occasion. Either carry comfortably but the Sig is a heavier gun and requires a good belt. Also note that I wear Duluth jeans and they have a large pocket.

Re: Going unarmed
As a banker, I'm always surprised by the people who think its illegal to carry in a bank. Unless its posted 30.06, it's totally legal. Not only do I always have one on me, but a backup in my desk. And no, I'm not carrying to stop a robbery....give them the money & get them out. I carry for the l...

Re: Ruger LC9s magazine releasing on its own
Owned one two years ago with the same issue. Realized two things. First, the mags didn't seat as well as I would have liked. Second, the way I naturally gripped the gun had me pressing the release button, and with the mags not well seated, they released very easily. Tried to work around it for three...

Re: pocket pistols
RugerLCP gets 5 gold stars. I have a Glock 27, an XDS, Sig 938, and a full size 1911, but my LCP in a superfly holster sees way more carry time from simple ease of carry. Throw it in your pocket and forget it. No matter what your dress, it conceals.

Re: What is your concealed weapon?
gPrimary is LC9, but go with a S&W air weight .38 every once in awhile. Have a Springfield 1911 .45 RO that i LOVE, so am investigating if it's feasible to carry a .45 cap concealed. My usual wear is shorts and a colored tshirt, or khakis and a polo, so not sure how that will work. Recommendati...

Re: What is your concealed weapon?
When I'm in my professional clothes, a Ruger LCP in my back pocket, and a Glock 27 in my desk drawer. When I have my untucked militia uniform on, a full size 1911 (Remington).
