Re: Urgent: XDs recall...
My .45 came home to roost today. I will have time tomorrow to take it to my range and try it out. Its in the mule right now along with 50 rounds of ammo. I am eager to give it a try. Trigger is very smooth, not scratchy at all as some have described. I don't know if its a heavier trigger since I didn't scale it prior to sending it in but in any case, its ok with me. My 9 should be here Friday and hopefully it will be as smooth as this one is. So, that being said, I am glad to have one of them back and feel like the wait was worth it.

Re: Urgent: XDs recall...
One of mine is now en route back to Texas. The other should be shipped prior to Thanksgiving if their schedule is still on track.

Even if the risk is low and it can happen on a "rare" occasion (as SA says), I wouldn't want to take the risk. In any case, if human nature holds true, I expect there will be a very manageable number reaching the factory in the first couple of weeks.
Plus, if (God forbid) something happens, and you knew about the recall and ignored it — the liability would become yours. At least, partially, but possibly — fully.
Even if the risk is low, the potential consequences are WAY TOO SEVERE to just "wait and see".
I couldn't picture waiting to see if my gun would go "bang" each time I loaded it.
However, human nature is hard to change and doing nothing is easier than doing something, which is more than enough reason for many to do nothing.
My bet is that tens of thousands of those guns will never be sent in for repair.
SA didn't help matters any by stating they were "initiating this voluntary safety recall". Some would think that if it were serious enough they would take a more stringent approach in seeing the guns got returned for repairs. Mine will go back next week.
