Re: 4th renewal: Take the course or not?
Thank you for the kind offers gentlemen.
I'm down near Bay City so it would be too far of a drive for me to attend.
Do believe I will attend a local class to update the CHL-100. That way I'm covered.

Re: Anyone ever had issues with Botach Tactical
Botach is notorious for accepting an order for items they do not have in stock. Sometimes MONTHS backordered without informing you. Many friends have had negative issues with them. Personally I have only ordered from them once. The item arrived quickly and without a problem. I would say stay away fr...

4th renewal: Take the course or not?
Question for the forum: I'm up for my 4th CHL renewal later this year. As I understand it the new regulations say the CHL-100 Training Form is good for 10 years after the 3rd renewal. On my 3rd renewal the CHL-100 would be good for 10 years so I don't actually need to re-take the CHL course again co...

Re: Black powder weapons
I've always heard that a BP firearm falls under two exceptions:
1.) It can be shipped. bought, sold without FFL involvment.
2.) It CANNOT be carried as a "weapon".
BP gun falls under the same rules as a standard firearm if a person is actually out carrying it.

Re: Pasadena gunshow
Honestly I was quite disappointed in the show.
When I saw a brand new plain Colt M1911 38Super marked $1895.00 my stomach started churning.
Typical price on that gun is <$1000 EVEN AT CARTER'S COUNTRY!

Pasadena gunshow
Went to Pasadena gunshow this morning.
Lots of folks waiting in line when I got there.
Plenty of EBR's. Especially AR's.
Ammo sellers tables were stacked 4 people deep!
Prices were only insane to outrageous on anything marked Colt.
Left without buying anything.

Re: Smart To Buy An AR Now Rather Than Wait?
My .02cents: If you want an EBR/military clone you should obtain it ASAP.
Don't forget mags, spare parts, and ammo.
Call me crazy but the anti EBR rumblings are subtle but real.
If something happens, you're good to go.
If nothing happens, you're good to go.

Re: Trijicon ACOG
1.) Mounting the ACOG depends on what type of weapon you're using it on. If its a typical flat-top AR, put the gun up to your shoulder in a normal firing position. Move the scope back and forth along the rail until you get the eye relief set for you. The ACOG F model has a very short eye relief. I h...

Re: Misc Tactical shotguns accessories WTS/WTT
The small bolts go under the barrel.
In the pic the Mossberg factory set-up uses the plastic spacer cut to the correct size.
The generic guard doesn't have a spacer so it just clamps with the bolts.

Re: Cabela's gripe
Thats just the way it is at the Big Box Store places like Cabela's, Wal-Mart, Academy, or BassPro. Lots and lots of people wanting to see/handle/buy guns. Ammo is a hit or miss situation. Some stores have it some don't. Next week its reversed. The gun and ammo market has gone bonkers in the last few...

Re: Is this for real?
IMO that site is just crazy. Prices on there are absurd.
They can ask whatever price they want.
If some wants to pay that much so be it. I won't.
