I wanted to let you know that you are not alone. My status changed to mail on 4-11-2013 also and I have been watching the mailbox as well as your post. Nothing is worse than 'knowing' it is in the mailbox only to find something for everyone else in the household. Like a kid who cant wait for Christmas, receiving that plastic will be an exciting moment.

EXACTLY!!

I have a friend who's was mailed on 4/11 and she received hers today.. So hopefully by this weekend I'll have it.

Keep me updated on when you get yours. If I get nothing within 15 business days of "mailed" I'll call again.

I'll let you know when I get mine!

Mailed Package 2/8
Fingerprints completed 2/8
Background under review since 2/27
Background Complete / Manufacturing 4/8 (Could have been a few days before I hadn't been checking everyday)
Mailed 4/11
Received: 4/15

Good Luck tracking the progress through the system and trying to nail down a timeline. I believe the system flows in "batches" and prior background checks have no bearing. I've held a Military Clearance for 20 years and mine seemed to take no longer or no less than most others. The biggest factor may be the "person" who is assigned your case. Some are slow, some are fast as with all humans.

This is a great forum and I appreciated reading some of the postings.

Cheers!
Mine was mailed on 04/11 as well. Still nothing. What is your general area If you don't mind me asking... Just so I get an Idea for distance from Austin... You can just say miles if you like.

I am 30min south of Houston.

Jeez wonder what takes so long. 40 days seems like a long time.

I think the issue may have been related to a lot of moving in the past 5 years. I was technically a resident of Rhode Island while going to college in Oklahoma and I just moved to Texas about 10 months ago. You know those blue states, it was probably Rhode Island holding it up out of spite.
Ahh. I bet that's a good explanation.

I've had the same job and same home for the past 5 years. But I've had a slight legal matter that I've had dismissed. I sent all the appropriate paperwork. So not sure if mine will be a longer or shorter check.
I was in your shoes.. I explained my situation starting around page 9 .... Close to 45 day background check for me.

I already know what it is. I was involved in an incident early 2012 which if convicted i would have been disqualified. The case was completely dismissed with ZERO circumstances.. flat out dismissed.. no probation or adjudication.. just dismissed.. so i bet this is what is holding me up. They said could take 3-6months to clear it and they usually only take about 90 days.. so here I wait..

and before anyone asks it was dismissed because my lawyer was able to prove self defense (because it was) behind the scenes with the county prosecutors.

anyway thats my story.. kind of personal but there might be others dealing with the same issues.

Well I finally received an update on my status.

I'll try and get the dates as accurate as possible

Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing Pending 08 April 2013

I put the "@" because it was within a few days of that day.

As I stated before, you can see where I quoted myself, I was flagged due to a prior incident and this was the cause of my background check taking so long.

Just want to put the information out there for others who might be in a similar situation.

I will update as soon as "Manufacturing Pending" is updated.

Anyone have a number? My BG check has been "under review" with my Fingerprints for going on 3 weeks now...

I've been told before that having a TWIC card was the reason I was always delayed when purchasing a gun..

Any thoughts? Any phone number that works?
Calling early in the morning 8 am to 10 am usually is the best time to get someone to speak with or after 3:30 pm sometimes.
Alright thank you i'll give that a try
