Well that's what happens when you run your mouth. If you plan on shooting someone don't tell everyone you know about it.

I doubt it's that simple but since he will be in jail here it's a moot point.philip964 wrote:I would suspect he would not be able to travel out side the US for the rest of his life.EEllis wrote:I don't get it. Germany would issue an arrest warrant, just about any country would be obligated to arrest him on discovery.

Property rights are all good and everything but this guy, in theory, was hunting for bg's like they were deer and he was in a blind by a feeder. You can shoot to protect yourself, to protect property, but not to kill them as punishment or as revenge. Now that intention is almost impossible to prove except he ran his mouth to everyone about his intention. Maybe some on here should also think about their comments.Tic Tac wrote:Verdict may hinge on whether the jurors are from Montana or foreigners from California, Colorado, Germany, England, etc.

No, in one case it to catch a bg the other to kill one. He isn't being charged with baiting the kid but killing him.Cedar Park Dad wrote:Because they aren't cops.suthdj wrote:whats wrong with setting traps, ever heard of "bait cars". Re: German Penal Law Applies in Montana Shooting???
So it's OK if they could whup us? All he has to do is stay out of germany and it's no problem. Guess what we have done the same thing. The US has prosecuted people for actions taken outside of our borders. They wouldn't be dictating anything by prosecuting this guy just classifying him as a criminal if he goes where they have legal jurisdiction. So? It doesn't mandate that Montana do anything. Your description makes The US the fat drunk at the bar who can do anything he wants but no body else better step out of line else they'll get whupped. That isn't what I want my America to be.DEB wrote:I believe it is a big deal, no country should dictate anything to us. I believe it always depends on who can whup whom. We can whup the Panamanians and most everyone else we choose, at least currently. We did and still can whup the Germans, IMO I don't care what they or any other Country thinks, especially European. It angers me to no end to hear our Nation's leadership worry about what England and the rest of Europe thinks and does. If Montana finds this Gentleman guilty of a crime, then Montana will take care of the problem, we are still the Alpha Dog.EEllis wrote:I don't get it.
