Re: 30.06 at Gun Shows

It's cool brother. I just thought it was weird that they were selling these items using loopholes to do so.

Problem with that is if you put on oil filter and shoot with it then you have a unregistered surpressor. If you get caught you will go to prison just like the FBI agent that got busted by the ATF for having one. Not worth it.

The absurdist in me wants this to mean that neither side is posting it and it's actually some random guy with an odd sense of humor putting the signs up. "I'm gonna gum up that bureaucracy, I swear!".

I expect in reality it means that neither side wants to take complaints.
Its the promoters of the gun show posting it. I never got a response to my emails that I sent out to both promoters, go figure.

It's cool to look but not worth 7 bucks to do so. I doubt I will go to any more for awhile till prices drop. I still cannot believe how much ammo still is.

Ammo was very high! But so was everything else. Sad to say, but right now it is cheaper to go to cheaper than dirt and shop.
There were some decent deals, the pmags and the 100rds of reloads I thought was a fair price. I just can't see how some of these vendors sleep at night pricing this stuff so high. One asked me if I wanted to buy the 50rd box of Federal FMJ for $35, I said "nope, I got 3 boxes at Walmart last week for 13 bucks a box, good luck selling it."

He told me if I have a bunch I should start selling it for a big profit. I said "no, I don't like taking advantage of people"

Re: 30.06 at Gun Shows

Ammo was outrageous. WWB 9mm FMJ $55, .223 steel case 20rds $15. I bought 100rds of 9mm reloads for $28, not too bad of a price. I was amazed on how much these vendors wanted for ammo. Got two Gen 3 Pmags for $30, everyone else wanted $20 for gen 2, no thanks jeff.

Dirthawking wrote:Wasn't just one officer. I counted four FW officers at front door, another four at side door, two in lobby, and several walking around each room. As well as several vendors asked if my firearm was unloaded with no magazine. But then again there was one vendor there selling switchblade knives and I overheard him tell one person they were legal to carry in Texas. A ton of people must have heard him tell that to plenty of people because not five minutes later they came over the loud speaker warning people that at this time switch blade knives are not legal and to please remove them from vending hall if you have one.....

Long story short, legal seems to be in the eye of the beholder.......
There was a vender selling adapters for ARs that u put on a oil filter to create a ghetto surpressor. Another was selling brass knuckles as belt buckles.

Now, if you're at a gun show and carrying concealed, and then take your concealed firearm out to try on a holster, you are in public, and that is an intentional failure to conceal. CHLers need to understand that the concealed gun is to remain concealed in public, even among "our people".

A few examples being made of the intentional failure to conceal might solve the whole problem.
As often stated, a plain reading of the law says that the sign is not legally enforceable, but the promoters and their off-duty police officers definitely think it is. Proceed at your own risk.
I like that. The sign issue would never come up.
Problem is that it does. You would think after 10yrs this would not be a issue.
