I would say "Any safe is better than no safe."
I bought a Cannon about like this one, last year at Tractor Supply on sale.

You can bolt it to the floor or put a bunch of ammo in it to make harder to move, because it's only 360lbs.
The lock runs on a 9 volt battery, power outage is not a problem. But, yes, I would rather have a mechanical lock too.
But the price was right.

Don't go without a safe just because you can't afford the BEST.
