Re: Pictures Of Your Daily Carry
Here's mine: Springfield XDs, DeSantis Soft Tuck holster (for now, while my custom IWB rig is "under construction"). I carry with a five-round magazine in the pistol, and a spare seven-round in a Blackhawk magazine pouch.

Here ya go, Venus Pax:Venus Pax wrote:Mars is considering a .45, but he's wondering how easily he can hide it.
Would anyone here be willing to post pics of your concealed glock/XD or 1911?
XD-45 Service Model, carried IWB with a Brigade Gunleather M-11. No problems at all concealing under a loose tee-shirt.

Why worry about IWB for something as small as a single-stack .380 mag? Stick it in a nylon or leather knife case and no one will be the wiser. Or just carry it in your off-hand pocket.NcongruNt wrote:Since we're on the subject...
It has become a seemingly impossible task to find an IWB mag pouch for .380/9mm Mak single stack mags. Apparently I'm the only one who wants to carry such a thing that there's almost no market. I've found a grand total of ONE available, and it's not really what I want.

Re: Doing the happy dance!
Yeah, I thought that was kinda odd myself. Besides, I can't see a real compelling need to carry more than one extra mag. 13 rounds of 45ACP and a Surefire flashlight (got one on order) is enough of a load for the off side, I think. If 27 rounds total aren't going to get me through a "social encounter" then I needed more backup than just a sidearm in the first place.ScubaSigGuy wrote: What bothers me about that double mag holder is that fact that the mags face opposite directions.

Doing the happy dance!
Making a change in my primary carry! While I like my S&W .40 cal. pistol, I’ve always been an old 1911 dog at heart. There’s just something about the venerable .45ACP that a shooter has to love.
Likewise, I’ve come to really love Mrs. M’s Springfield Armory XD-9. It’s just so comfortable in the hand, and shoots so well.
So why not get the best of both? My new Springfield Armory XD-45 has arrived! Delivered with hard case, (3) 13-rd. magazines, XD Gear holster and magazine carrier, lock and other accessories, the total package at a local gun store came to $500 plus tax. The dealer threw in some practice ammo at no charge.
I’m not much impressed with the supplied XD Gear holster, it simply doesn’t carry close enough to the body for effective concealed carry. I’ll pick up a Fobus paddle holster tomorrow to suffice until my Brigade Gunleather custom IWB rig arrives (already on order). The magazine pouch is fine, but for everyday carry I will probably just carry a single extra mag in my existing Uncle Mike’s cordura nylon pouch. A total of 27 rounds of .45ACP should suffice for any social encounter, no real reason to carry TWO extras.
Range report to follow, will be punching holes in paper tomorrow.
