From what I remember about the book I read the UDTs were more into underwater demo, beach recon and blowing of beach defenses while SEALs did the unconventional warfare.

The way I heard it was Ventura was in a SEAL hangout spewing his typical filth and Chris Kyle took exception to what he was saying and put him in his place.
